ONLINE SOMATIC THERAPY IN LOS ANGELES AND SURROUNDING AREAS

Your body has been trying to get your attention—but for too long, you’ve silenced its call for calm.

It’s time to tap into your inner wisdom so you can break free from survival mode and step into a life where you feel grounded, heard, and at peace—without guilt or burnout.

You’re in the right place if…

You were raised in an environment where strength meant survival, and expressing emotions wasn’t safe, so you learned to push through and handle things alone.

You’ve learned to silence your needs to keep the peace, but now you struggle to express your needs without guilt, fearing you’ll be seen as “too much.”

You’re always the one giving, but when it’s your turn to ask for support, you feel guilty and unsure of how to do so without feeling rejected.

You may experience chronic tension in your shoulders, jaw, and chest but haven’t realized how much of it is linked to emotional suppression.

SO LET ME ASK YOU SOMETHING

Do you find yourself:

  • Overcommitting to others while pushing your own needs aside?

  • Constantly feeling on edge, your body tense and your mind racing, even when you try to relax?

  • Silencing yourself before you even speak because you’re afraid of saying the wrong thing or being misunderstood?

  • Feeling like you have to handle everything on your own because you don’t have anyone who truly supports you?

  • Feeling trapped in a cycle of overthinking, replaying past situations and stressing over future ones, never fully at ease in the present?

Inhale. Exhale. It's time to...

Prioritize your well-being without guilt

Cultivate calm and clarity throughout your day

Speak up confidently without  fear of rejection

Live fully in the present moment, enjoy rest, and feel aligned with your true self

These are your non-negotiables now

In my Somatic Therapy sessions I will help you reconnect with your body, release stored tension and stress, and unburden your emotions so you can live authentically feeling grounded and confident.

This is your space to release what no longer serves you—so your inner voice can rise and your body can finally breathe.

this is what we you will experience

Step 1: Awareness & Understanding

We’ll begin by exploring how stress, self-silencing, and past conditioning are showing up in your body and daily life. You’ll gain insight into the patterns keeping you stuck and start reconnecting with your inner voice.

Step 2: Nervous System Regulation & Embodiment

You’ll learn practical somatic techniques to calm your nervous system, release stored tension, and create a sense of safety within. These tools will help you move through stress and anxiety with greater ease.

Step 3: Boundaries, Self-Trust & Emotional Expression

Through guided support, you’ll practice setting boundaries without guilt, expressing your needs with confidence, and trusting your intuition. You’ll start showing up for yourself in a way that feels empowering and aligned.

Hello there

Hello, I’m Chelsey Reese

Licensed therapist, trained yoga teacher, and sound healing practitioner specializing in somatic therapy.

I’ve spent 5+ years helping women break free from chronic stress, self-doubt, and emotional suppression so they can feel grounded, empowered, and at home in their own bodies.

Here’s why I’m passionate about this work: I know what it’s like to silence yourself to keep the peace, to carry the weight of everyone else’s needs while neglecting your own. I also know that healing is possible.

Through my own journey and years of guiding others, I’ve seen the profound transformation that happens when we reconnect with our bodies, regulate our nervous systems, and learn to trust ourselves again.

I’m here to support you in doing the same.

So, I have a question for you

I’m ready to empower you with  the confidence, clarity, and inner calm you need to get out of survival mode and operate from a place of self-trust, but the next step is up to you.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is somatic therapy?

Somatic therapy is an integrated  and body-centered approach that focuses on the connection between your mind and body.

Somatic therapy helps you become more aware of physical sensations, emotions, and patterns in the body that are linked to stress, trauma, and emotional experiences.

  • How does virtual therapy work?

Virtual therapy sessions are held over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. All you need is a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.

  • Can I use my insurance for virtual therapy?

I currently do not accept insurance. I can provide a superbill for reimbursement and I do accept Loveland Vouchers.

  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?

I ask for at least 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel your session. Cancellations made less than 24 hours notice may incur a fee.

  • Somatic therapy vs talk therapy what’s the difference?

Talk therapy focuses on verbal processing, helping you understand emotions, thought patterns, and behaviors. It’s great for gaining insight and developing coping strategies.

Somatic therapy goes deeper by addressing how stress and trauma live in the body. Through breathwork, movement, and body awareness, it helps regulate the nervous system and release stored tension.

  • What does a somatic release feel like?

A somatic release is when the body lets go of stored stress or trauma. It can feel different for everyone, but common experiences include:

    • Physical sensations – Deep sighs, yawning, warmth, tingling, or muscles softening.
    • Emotional release – A sudden wave of sadness, relief, or even unexpected laughter.
    • Energy shifts – A sense of lightness, subtle shaking, or a deep exhale as tension dissolves.
    • Deep relaxation – Feeling more grounded, present, and at ease in your body.

Your body remembers what your mind tries to forget. Somatic therapy helps you gently integrate and release what has been stored.

  • How do I know if I need somatic therapy?

You might benefit from somatic therapy if you:

    • Feel stuck in talk therapy, gaining insight but still experiencing the same emotional patterns.
    • Carry chronic tension in your shoulders, chest, or jaw, even when you're not actively stressed.
    • Struggle with anxiety, burnout, or overwhelm that feels more physical than mental.
    • Find it hard to slow down and rest, feeling guilty or restless when you try.
    • Have experienced trauma or emotional suppression and notice that certain triggers bring up body sensations rather than just thoughts.

If you’ve been pushing through stress, ignoring your body’s signals, or feeling disconnected from yourself, somatic therapy can help you regulate, release, and reconnect.

Chelsey has been a mentor to me in many ways. She has a warm, patient, thoughtful presence that is consistent and unmoving, and the ability to closely contact whatever arises in a calm and non judgemental way that allows for connection. Highly recommend!

Chelsey and I recently led a group and I was in awe of her ability to hold space, give others feedback, and stay regulated throughout the course. Chelsey was a supportive, caring, and wonderful co-facilitator. I learned so much from her!

Julia Willinger

She's phenomenal. I've had a few different therapists during my mental health journey, but Chelsea is the first one to actually make me feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable. She reminds me that it's okay to acknowledge my feelings, instead of bottling them up in order to process the situation that brought that particular feeling up. I spent a long time feeling invisible; my sessions with Chelsea remind me that I'm here, and I matter. It feels good to feel seen and understood.
